Devout Roman Catholic, Trustee of St. Timothy's - Sal Raspallo - Passes Away

Salvatore J. Raspallo July 22, 1934 - August 20, 2024

 

Salvatore J. Raspallo, age 90, passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at his home and surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Evelyn M. (Muschiano) Raspallo, to whom he shared 67 years of marriage. Born in Providence, he was one of ten children born to the late Salvatore and Elisabetta (Sivo) Raspallo. Salvatore was a proud and honorable United States Air Force Veteran having served in the Korean War during his eight years of service. Upon his discharge from the Air Force, he was employed as a Glazer for Superior Glass for 33 years and served as the Financial Secretary for IUPAT Local 1333 for 49 years. He was a man of deep faith and a longtime communicant of St. Timothy Church in Warwick. In his service to the church, he was a member of the choir for 43 years, CCD teacher, Eucharistic minister and adult server. He also served as President of the Holy Name Society, Chairperson of the Pro-Life Committee, Food Drive and 50-Week Club and was a member of the Parish Council, Finance Council and Capital Improvement Building Committee. His greatest honor came when he received the Lumen Gentium Award in 2017 for his outstanding service to the parish. Salvatore was the devoted father of David A. Raspallo (wife, Kathy), Diane M. Parrillo (husband, Steven) and Stephen P. Raspallo; grandfather of Christopher Parrillo (wife Krystal), Matthew Raspallo and Kayla Raspallo (fiancée, Bryan) and the great-grandfather of Domenic and Anthony Parrillo. He was the brother of Deacon Thomas Raspa lo (wife, Ann), Robert Raspallo (wife, Louise) and Carolina Read and the late Carmino Raspallo, Anthony Raspallo, the Rev. Domenic Raspallo, Angelina Neri, Marie Senesi and Michelina Rossi and the uncle and godfather to many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his beloved pal and sister-in-law Terry Mulvey and her husband, David. Salvatore is going to be missed tremendously by a l those who had the honor to know and love him. His family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Harmony Hospice, notably Salvatore’s nurse Kari, CNA Indira and Chaplain Tim for the excellent and compassionate care they provided to him during his final months.

 

His funeral will be held Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at 9am from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Timothy Church, 1799 Warwick Ave., Warwick. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours are Monday 4-7pm.
